The three winners of the 2015 FIRE Africa Awards received a travel grant to attend the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2015, held in João Pessoa, Brazil from 10-13 November. We catch up with Florence Toffa (Code for Ghana), Tidiane Ball (Malisanté) and Chancel Malanga Mathoy Mata (Côte Na Tshombo) during their busy week to find out more about their projects and how their US$ 3,000 FIRE Africa Award will help their projects.

He received a travel grant from FIRE Africa to attend the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2015, held in João Pessoa, Brazil from 10-13 November, where he hosted a workshop on OER: Can they bridge the digital divide gap? We catch up with Bonaface to find out how the FIRE Award and attending the IGF has helped the project.

AFRINIC is pleased to announce that by now, all members have already migrated their engine to the new platform, on which they have also created their ROAs. 33 members have activated their new engines with a total of 77 active ROAs.

Case Study: Platform for the promotion, management and sale of African ccTLDs via mobile payment

Project: VENAME is a platform that facilitates the registration of African domain names (ccTLDs) and assists African registries in the management and automation of domain names for their countries. Crucially, this platform offers payment via mobile, which enables many Africans whose only option is to pay using their mobile device to actively particpate in the digital economy.
