AFRINIC holds several elections as part of its proceedings and organisational governance structure. We usually hold elections for:

  1. The appointment of the Board of Directors
  2. The appointment of Co-Chairs of the Policy Development Working Groups
  3. The appointment AFRINIC region's representatives on the NRO Number Council (NRO-NC)
  4. The appointment of a community representative to the Governance Committee

The AFRINIC community is expected to play an active role in the running of the organisation and also in the global Internet resource community by nominating candidates and voting in various AFRINIC elections.

We strongly encourage members and the community, in general, to actively participate in the election process.

Governance Committee

According to the Terms of Reference (ToR), three members are elected using a process similar to that used for the AFRINIC Board of Director Elections. Election to the Governance Committee follows the same process as the Board Election.
